Mixed media

Some ideas and themes require different media. Transient theatre is based on the theatre painting of Daumier and Sickert. The project resulted in etchings, drawings, a short animation High Stepping and an installation called Some of it Rubs Off.

Sea States has existed in a variety of forms, both as an internet slide show and a series of photomontages. Elderly Isolation is a project involving drawing and photomontage.

Sea States has existed in a variety of forms, both as an internet slide show and a series of photomontages. The print version was exhibited in the East Sussex Open.

The Shipping Forecastradio broadcast has its earned its place in British art and literature and is the inspiration for this project.  This work uses a visual metaphor comparing the bed to the sea.

Transient theatre is based on the theatre painting of Daumier and Sickert. The project resulted in etchings, drawings, a short animation High Stepping and an installation called Some of it Rubs Off, which was exhibited at the Contemporary Art Show Longitude 50.84 Lattitude 0.13 Circus Street Brighton.

Elderly Isolation was a series of images of the elderly.Initally charcoal drawings which were then used for photomontages. This work was selected for the Ruskin Drawing Prize exhibiton. The growing aging population of Britain presents a challenge for modern society. Many people are living without companionship and support, which would in past generations have been provided by smaller close knit communities. This work goes some way to question the morality of this in the age of communication.
